This season Ecotone Farm has added another service to get our farm fresh produce to the consumer. We have started a CSA program with Indian River State College (IRSC) at the St. Lucie West campus, delivering our CSA boxes on a bi-weekly basis. In this basket we provide an assortment of seasonally available produce. Currently, the typical CSA box will include the following items:
• 6 assorted heads of our specialty lettuces (green butter, red butter, red oakleaf, green incised, red lolla rosa, baby romaine)
• 1 potted herb (basil, cilantro, chive, dill, marjoram, mint, thyme)
• Assortment of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers (bell, chiles), other seasonal produce
For an additional charge, there are other items that may be included in the CSA box, such as JT’s farm-made salad dressing; jarred pickles, candied jalepenos, and local honey.
CSA boxes are $30 each, and can be picked-up at our farm by appointment or on Saturday mornings between 8 am and noon during our Farm Market hours. We are working on expanding our service area so that we can deliver our CSA boxes to a central pick-up location. Please stay tuned as we continue to expand this service.
